First Costa Rica CAFTA referendum results

With 73% of the voting center’s results in, the Yes for CAFTA is ahead in the race. At this point Yes has 50.86% of the votes, while No has 47.57%.


The remaining votes were either blank or nulled. The only province where No had a lead was Alajuela. Voter turnout was 60% one of the highest in recent history.

These is the first official announcement of the vote count done directly by the Electoral Tribunal at 8:30pm.
