Federico Pilurzu Ranked 28th Top Surfer in the World
Federico Pilurzu, a Tamarindo native, just moved up 18 spots in the 2008 World Qualifying Series (WQS) ranking, to become the top ranked surfer ever to come out of Mexico, Central America and South America (excluding Brazil).

The 2007-08 Costa Rica National Surf Circuit (CNS) will continue with its second competition this weekend in Playa Hermosa, just south of Jacó. The 3-star event, called Trofeo Op, will take place on Jan. 12 and 13, with surfers hitting the waves at 7am each day in front of the Hotel Backyard.

Large 4 to 6-foot waves set the stage for a high level of competition this past weekend at the first date of the 2007-2008 Costa Rican National Surf Circuit (CNS) in Jacó.
