The 2007-08 Costa Rica National Surf Circuit (CNS) will continue with its second competition this weekend in Playa Hermosa, just south of Jacó. The 3-star event, called Trofeo Op, will take place on Jan. 12 and 13, with surfers hitting the waves at 7am each day in front of the Hotel Backyard.

The epic battle between Costa Rican soccer teams La Liga and Saprissa ended with a 1-1 tie this past Sunday, which when combined with Saprissa’s 1-0 win in the first of the two games on Wednesday meant victory for the Purple Monster in this Costa Rica Opening Tournament semi-final.

Large 4 to 6-foot waves set the stage for a high level of competition this past weekend at the first date of the 2007-2008 Costa Rican National Surf Circuit (CNS) in Jacó.
