Real Intercontinental to Invest $40M in Costa Rica Tower

Real Intercontinental
The Real Intercontinental Hotel’s Newest Tower Boasts Luxury and Refinement.

In the Escazú Guachipelín neighborhood, you’ll find beautiful homes, intimate neighborhoods, friendly neighbors and now, one more addition: the Hotel Real Intercontinental has begun construction of a tower worth $40 million.

The new hotel annex will put a roof over the heads of Escazú’s traveling executives and luxury travelers, catering to the area’s upscale clientele. The tower will be named the Club & Tower, and will boast eight levels with 98 rooms, including 13 suites, three master suites, and one presidential suite that will measure more than 250 meters squared (approximately 2,700 square feet).

In addition to the super-luxurious new rooms, the new Club & Tower will be home to a 1,800 square meter spa (approximately 19,400 square feet) on the lower level, offering facials, pedicures, massages, and virtually anything you need to calm your nerves, recover from a flight, or just pamper yourself in paradise. The tower will also boast 12 cabins for varying treatments, as well as a pool.

To staff the new Club & Tower, the hotel will hire 66 additional personnel, including new executives, receptionists, carpenters, waiters, cooks, masseuses, stylists, and more. The key is to expand the hotel, while continuing to provide high a quality service that keeps its guests happy and well cared for.

The inauguration for the new Club & Tower will be held on August 15, according to Jennifer Conrado, the hotel’s administrative assistant. From that date on, all guests at the Club & Tower will be greeted at a private reception area, and will benefit from a private butler service during their stay. (Currently, the hotel only offers these services on their exclusive 5th Floor.)

These upgrades come at a good time for the hotel and Escazú, as the surrounding area continues to grow, attracting more visitors and those interested to invest in one of the most popular Costa Rica Real Estate markets. With warm, breezy weather, panoramic Central Valley views, and incredible mountains to explore, this western San José suburb is the perfect Central Valley resting point.

From Escazú’s green mountains, guests at the Hotel Real Intercontinental are located just 10 minutes from downtown, perfect for business meetings or casual shopping trips. In addition to being convenient to San José, Escazú is just a few hours from both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts, and a great place to spend the night after a long airplane flight, and before heading off to destinations further afield.

The new construction marks a growing trend in the area, marketing Escazú as one of the Central Valley’s most prestigious places to rest your eyes, or put down roots. Indeed, the Hotel Real Intercontinental’s new Club & Tower will serve Escazú’s luxury travelers, offering upscale amenities sure to please the most demanding travelers. On your next trip into San José, make sure to consider the hotel’s new digs among your lodging options.

The 66 new positions will be be filled during a job fair today and tomorrow (May 28-29), beginning at 9am at the Hotel Real Intercontinental. If you’re interested, take your resumé (curriculum vitae) and a good attitude, and ask for Raquel Vargas, Human Resources manager for the hotel.
