Bilingual Job Fair this Weekend in Costa Rica

Job Fair Offers Jobs to the Linguistically Savvy
Multinationals will offer 3,000 jobs to Costa Ricans

The Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE) will be hosting the 4th Bilingual Job Fair this weekend March 7 through 9 at the National Cultural Center in San Jose.

Companies such as Procter & Gamble, Intel, IBM, Dole, Western Union, DHL, Fujitsu, HP, Alienware, Language Line, People Support, Sykes and Oracle will be recruiting over 3,000 new employees for positions in administration, accounting, electric, electronic and industrial engineering, programming, client service, translation and technical support, among others.

The focus is on anyone with English as a second language; however they will also be recruiting people that speak French, Portuguese, Italian, German, mandarin and Cantonese.

Entrance is free for anyone who wishes to attend. CINDE’s website www.cinde.org offers more information about the specific positions available, so applicants should prepare their resumes specifically for the companies they wish to apply to. The Fair is an opportunity to submit your resume and start the interview process, but the hiring process will take place afterward.

It is expected that companies in the service industry will be offering about 8,000 new jobs in Costa Rica this year, 3,000 of which will be offered at the bilingual job fair. This is about 3,000 more positions overall than last year.

The last bilingual job fair held in Costa Rica was put on by the Costa Rican North American Cultural Center (CCCN) and offered 2,000 jobs.
